2025 already . . . Happy New Year !

clairecharrie

We bid a fond farewell to 2024 and with every ending there is a new beginning as we step into 2025, a time to embrace change and new opportunities.

We’re already fully engaged in planning a calendar of events for 2025 but firstly we’d like to take this opportunity to reflect upon some of the highlights achieved during a very busy 2024 . . . our heartfelt thanks as ever to our regular and corporate volunteers for their hard work and enthusiasm . . .

We created an orchard showcasing an abundance of fruit trees, a riot of colourful plants and an impressive bug hotel of palatial proportions!

__________

Our grateful thanks to DEFRA’s Coronation Living Heritage Fund.

__________

The Sow, Grow, Eat…Repeat workshop was launched, a fun and educational  opportunity to learn how to grow, harvest and cook your own fruit & veg.  Our thanks to NHS Frimley Innovation Fund. This initiative was highly reviewed and we will be offering similar courses again this year.

__________

We took part in the Gather & Grow community project where we offered a container gardening workshop to enthusiastic children & adults.

__________

Our continued huge thanks to our supportive GG partners – Green Skills Library, Waltham Place & Eco Action Hub

__________

We forged wonderful collaborative events and projects with many organizations including GoodGym, BCA / Berkshire College Of Agriculture, Maidenhead United Community Trust, The Waterside Inn, Elizabeth House Adult Day Centre, Furze Platt School, Lavender Green, Goyals – we value our connections with you and look forward to continuing to work with you.

__________

Our Corporate Volunteering opportunities are growing ever more popular with fantastic support from a variety of companies including Centrica, MCS, TravelPort.

__________

We were thrilled to show at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival in July.  Our Tea Garden Allotment was so well received with rave reviews by visitors and exhibitors alike and to our absolute delight, the garden was featured on Gardeners’ World!

__________

We were chuffed to be asked to judge the imaginative pumpkin and funny veg entries at The Maidenhead Town Show – we applaud the creative talent in the borough!

__________

As ever, our popular Christmas wreath workshop proved to be a festive treat for all and a lovely way to end our activities for the year
