Busy, Busy, Busy!

April Newsletter

On Saturday 13th, Nature’s Haven held its first introduction to ‘Growing Fruit & Veg in Containers’ workshop. We had a wonderful turnout of enthusiastic folk including children and a dog! Claire did a sterling job demonstrating and providing valuable information, everyone went home with their new found green fingered knowledge plus their very own tomato plant to nurture.

We ran this workshop as part of the Gather & Grow community initiative in which Nature’s Haven is collaborating with Waltham Place, Green Skills Library and EcoAction Hub. There are more free workshops on offer happening in the next few months and we’ll keep you updated on these events.

The success of our workshop proves to us the value of gardening and we are very excited to launch our Sow, Grow, Eat. . . Repeat workshops in May. Details to follow soon.

Our Orchard is Growing!

The orchard area is coming on in leaps and bounds. All our regular volunteers including corporate volunteers have worked so hard and the transformation is remarkable. All the fruit trees, including apples, pears, plums, cherries, mulberry are all in situ and already attracting positive attention especially from the pollinators/wildlife. There’s still so much more to tackle and we’re looking forward to creating the bug hotel centrepiece . . .
